Propolis is a natural antibiotic that is quickly gaining popularity in the application of home remedies! It is one of the bee products that really make me wow in the wonder of nature and marvel at the ability of the highly organized insect – Bee honey. Now, let me tell the fascinating story of propolis.
Some trees and conifers produce sticky resins as part of your immune system to defend against disease. Honey bees collect these substances that ooze from the buds of these plants. After chewing and mixing with saliva and other substances Propolis is formed. This substance rich in nutrients is vital for the survival of honey bees in the hive. It is designed to sterilize the hive and protect it against diseases and infections. They not only help prevent the spread of bacteria, viruses and fungi that would otherwise pose a significant threat in the close-knit neighborhoods, and help fight climate change, such as wind and cold. It is also used as a putty "to seal cracks and openings in the hive and to strengthen and repair honeycombs, and for this reason is also known as 'bee glue'. Another surprise is that the bees also use this sticky for embalming or "mummify" the carcasses of larger insects that invade the hive. These intruders are immediately stung to death, but because the defending bees the body can not carry heavy, outside the hive, they embalm them rather than allowing them to decay. The former Eygptians observed this and propolis used as one of the players to embalming their mummies exquisite!
Propolis contains approximately 50-70% resins, 30% of wax, essential oils 10% and 5% pollen. It is especially rich in amino acids, important for immune system function. It is high in vitamins (Vitamin A carotene (), vitamin B1, B2, B3, biotin) and is extremely rich in bioflavonoids (vitamin P), which is believed to have many immune building properties and health benefits. Bioflavonoids are pigments natural fruits and vegetables are in abundance in oranges. This bee glue contains almost 500 times more bioflavonoids that is found in oranges! Also contains an array of albumin, calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus. Like royal jelly and bee pollen, which contains a number of unidentified compounds which work together in synergy to create a balance, nutrient.
Propolis can be purchased completely raw and unprocessed, but in its natural state is a sticky substance and it is very difficult to handle. Some beekeepers raw pack and freeze small portions. Then you can add a coffee grinder in its frozen state and the ground for easy consumption. Most producers use a process in which the active ingredients are "washed" in water or alcohol, then either packaged in liquid or dried and encapsulated.
Due to its antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiinflammatory and antioxidant effects, this beautiful substance was used as a natural remedy and healing agent for many centuries. It has the ability to provide protection against infectious invaders, promote healing and regeneration of tissues, and provides a superior source of energy and stamina. It has been used as ointments for healing cuts and wounds and have an exceptional value for a wide variety of diseases. It is also used as a natural alternative to penicillin and other antibiotics. Is said to be particularly safe and effective and inhibits the effect resistance capacity is a negative factor with prescribed antibiotics. In the former Eastern Bloc countries, antibiotics have not been widely available, But beekeeping is practiced widely. To help prevent many diseases, hospitals and clinics recommended washing, gargling or irrigating the sinuses with this antibiotic rinse natural as well as taking it orally. This product of bees is certainly a good weapon against bacteria when used topically. Obviously, you can prevent infection, and can also help cure infections that have already begun.
Do you know that now even toothpastes contain natural ingredients related to honey bees Honey? Propolis has become a healthy alternative to synthetic brands of toothpastes as it is especially useful in mouth and gum disorders. Our mouth is one of the most sensitive points of our body. This is where synesthesia of senses starts and the food they see develops its full flavor and odor. The mouth is the starting point for the digestion of food. A healthy mouth cavity is certainly one of the elements that influence appetite and good humor in general. If the mouth sores developed, thrush or gum disease, makes the whole system to break, resulting in pain and torment feeling. Published clinical research shows that bacteria propolis fights, prevents tooth decay, bleeding gums heal and prevents bad breath and receding gums. Manufacturers of toothpastes and mouth sprays claim that their products leave teeth clean and gums feeling healthy, great tasting, no artificial ingredients, and produce no negative side effects. Seller honey in a shop that often frequent explained that toothpastes are suitable for use in young children, as though swallowed, is extremely safe. These products are easy to apply, and have become an essential part of daily dental hygiene of the people who are particularly interested in natural resources. My latest discovery while shopping for honey products: propolis extract now even comes in the form of sprays and candies. Claims spray that is effective against flu, cuts, burns, infections of the gums and mouth, throat and intestinal discomfort discomforsts, while the sweet sold as a substitute to conventional therapy lozenges and an aid to curing flu, colds, throat discomfort, cough and bad breath.
Note Recommendation: Propolis is generally nontoxic, though allergic reactions such as rashes, swelling, redness, eczema or fever have been reported. Since the effects of propolis during pregnancy and breastfeeding have not been sufficiently evaluated, women should not be used at this time unless directed by a doctor.
